L.A.N.S.I vs PhotEX 2010

design, art direction, concept and copywriting by me. Magneto artwork from google images

Hi there guys, Here's another event that my collective group L.A.N.S.I will be participating, this time organized by SJCC (Subang Jaya Community Center). Here's some info about the exhibition:

"Showcasing photographs are contributed by local photography groups and individuals such as Syah (Lim Kok Weng lecturer), Lansi, Fotorama and also international group such as CAMSA (Coalition to Abolish Modern-day Slavery in Asia). The goal of this event is to promote awareness that photography can be an outlet and a healthy form of expression. It is also to create some exposure for local and international photographers alike."

Feels great supporting charity events such as this, looking forward for more in the future.

Adidas promo shoot during a birthday BBQ

yup, friendly neighbourhood and a perfect location that no one expected
Well, this was a spontanious photoshoot. I was invited by a dear friend of mine to his birthday BBQ celebration few weeks back. Had tonnes of fun playing rockband on a projectored wall, good food, good shisha, good folks. Another photographer friend of mine started snapping pics of those who came using a speedlight slave, we manage to borrow one more from a friend and it resulted to a photoshoot frenzy among ourselves. One special photo (top) is dedicated to the birthday boy, shot in front of his neighbour's house gate (above). Special thanks to Firdaus Heder for trusting me with his camera and lighting setup, not to forget Mista Iqbal for assisting me throughout the ever fun shoot.

Oh btw, happy new year to all of you!

one red compact camera vs 200 mighty DSLRs

shot using Canon Digital IXUS 100 IS
Well, it was supposed to be a mega gathering/model photoshoot session between Chot's clan (streetsnipers) and KukuBesi's soldiers (fotoradikal)...but the river water attracts me more than the 10 models invited for the session. I did took several snaps of these models while they were busy working with all the pros with bombastic camera equipments, studiolights and whatnot...with one hand holding a yummy ice cream :P

Kayuhbmx Advertisement in Revolution issue #101

Here's a simple 30minutes editing work for an extreme sport magazine Advertisement. The client is kayuhbmx, an online forum dedicated to BMX riders. I only played with several colour adjustment tools to enhance the quality of the photo to make it look more 'international' haha. I hope you like this piece.

ZEZATIONSmag : beauty ingredients photoshoot

Here's something different from me and Kaza (photographer). I was offered by the editor of an upcoming online fashion magazine to take pictures of ingredients for the magazine's beauty section. At first the editor mentioned 'beauty products' so i was not that nervous though it's my first time handling these kind of job, i tought that we would be snapping photos of facial creams and stuff in a form of tubes etc. But then we found out that actually we're supposed to shoot raw ingredients: yugurt, olive, aloe vera, papaya and honey. With the full trust from the editor, me, Kaza and Faiz (friend/wingman) worked our so-called 'magic' and tried our best to make the ingredients look interesting. The whole photoshoot took place at my house, using all the things we can find in the kitchen and the backyard etc. Quite a heavy editing process were done for the photos to cleanup the smudges and other unwanted stuff. Anyways, good job guys!

car photography+digital editing+graphic+covers

Here's a compilation of car magazine covers that i did a couple of years back, during my previous job as a creative director for a publishing company. There were a total of 24 magazine covers representing 24 issues that i worked with the magazine since day one. The photographer that was involved in my artwork here is Mr. Jay Ismail, now famous for his fashion photography. Incase you are wondering on the work process, all the photos were shot on the streets or parking lots...we didn't have a state-of-the-art equipments or studio to shoot these luxurious cars, so all that we had was passion to make the photos look as professional as it can be. Shots were taken by Jay and I did the digital editing+concept cover art.
